Background and Current Activities

Ubhayabharati Kanya Gurukulam, established on July 3, 2023, in Sengottai, Tamil Nadu, is a unique initiative dedicated to empowering young girls through traditional Bharatiya education. Managed by the Sengottai Sri Sharadamba Charitable Trust, the Gurukulam provides a residential, service-oriented, and gadget-free learning environment that integrates Samskritam, Samskriti, Shastra, Indian Knowledge Systems, classical music, dance, yoga, and modern education. Under the leadership of its founder, Dr. Radha Ramachandran, and a team of dedicated teachers and volunteers, the institution seeks to develop knowledgeable, culturally rooted, and confident young women capable of preserving and transmitting India's rich intellectual and spiritual heritage to future generations. Most importantly, the Gurukulam provides boarding, lodging, tuition, and educational facilities completely free of cost, ensuring that financial circumstances do not become a barrier to traditional education.

Why Financial Support Is Needed

The Gurukulam is experiencing a growing need to expand its infrastructure to accommodate more students and sustain its educational mission. With student enrollment projected to increase from approximately 12 to 40 over the next three years, the existing facilities limited to three classrooms, a cramped kitchen, and no dedicated playground are inadequate to support future growth. To address these constraints, the Trust has acquired a nearby traditional Agraharam house that requires renovation and development into additional classrooms, residential facilities, and other essential infrastructure. The estimated cost of this expansion is approximately ₹2 crore. Since the Gurukulam operates entirely without charging students for education or residential facilities, it depends on charitable contributions and the generosity of patrons. Financial support toward this expansion will directly help create the facilities needed to educate more girls, strengthen the institution's long-term sustainability, and nurture future generations of women scholars and custodians of Bharatiya Samskriti.
